GENERAL INFORMATION

First, of all until a final version is announced, all the releases are considered beta. Do not use beta versions as part of your regular game! They were only released to demo the mod and to get feedback from people.

Second,
I write my mods as a purist whever possible. I spend a great deal of time studying lore to keep my mod in line with game history. I spend a great deal of time maintaining gameplay balance in my mod. If you see something unbalancing or too powerfull please email me so I can look at it ~ Email.

Lastly, I love having fun. I enjoy heart pounding excitement, fast paced combat, emotional storylines, and good music. You will see all these in very controlled situations in my mod if play in Epic Mode. I spend a lot of time creating fun situations even if they only last a few minutes in game. A good example is my Epic Battles. They take hours to write, test and balance... and I do all that for 5 minutes of play time in game... but to me its worth every cent once complete.

Morrowind.esm

This mod is being written with only the original morrowind game. No expansions are needed, however some aspects in the mod are very intensive. Some real old computers will not be able to handle some of the battles I script. See the docs for more details.

HOW TO PLAY
*****************************************************************************************************
marcVampires is a dual state mod. It has an Epic aspect and a generalized aspect. Basically what this means is it can be played in two ways. The 1st way is in Epic mode which just means you following the instructions below. Generalized mode just means you did not select a mori vampire for race.

Epic Mode: To use this mode, create a new character of race "Mori Vampire" with the Birthsign "Nightwalker". The class "Aegis Stalker" is optional but recommended. In this mode, the mod tells the story and history of the Mori Vampire Clan. It explains in a more satisfactory manner, why you were brought to Morrowind, your family history, and why you have the potential to become the Nereverine. This mode also feature Epic Boss Battles! Epic Battle are basically special encounters in the game against extremely powerful enemies. The music changes, your player changes, and the battles are exciting and fast paced, The final epic battle is actually storyboarded to be a full scale scripted massive war against the existing Vampire Clans, the Demon Dragon Sevaar, and the resurrected King Djinn of the Imperial Kingdom.

General Mod: If you select any other race then you enter general mode. In this mode you will not see the story or epic battles from the epic mode however you will still benefit from the other vampire features and items included in this mod. You can still get Lilarcor the Talking Sword, you can still do the Ring of Temporal Flux quest and once you become a vampire, all the vampire features will activate including the Vampire Robe quests, the vampire spell enhancements, the minion summoning features, and you will be able to use all the vampire items in the mod including the different sun blocks.

MOD DESCRIPTION

IMPORTANT - Read the marcVampiresDetails.doc. It explains in detail the features and additions in this mod and more importantly it adds a short story to the beginning of the game to explain how you became a vampire. Read that before you start a new game or you will not understand some things in the game.

1 - Adds Mori Vampires as a Race (uses Better Bodies 1.0 Breton bodies and a bunch of Astarsis face/hair models. There are only 2 faces unfortunatly because no matter which face you select the game will default down to the vampire faces anyway. The vampire faces match those you select at game creation.)
2 - Adds Nightwalker as a Birthsign
3 - Adds Aegis Stalker as a Class
4 - More than 30 new vampire spells including: Augmentation Line, Charm/Calm Line, Frenzy Line, Absorb (aka Touch/Bite) Line, Regeneration Line, Vision Line, Mist Form Line, Magicka Enhancement Line, and Minion Command Line. Spells are not purchased, they are earned by leveling. Right now you get more powerful spells every 5 level. This may change before the mod is released.
5 - Adds items
        a - Brand new version of Lilarcor the Talking Sword
                i - Changed from 2-hand to 1-hand
                ii - Brand new custom graphics at every level up
                iii - Balances stats because he was much too strong before.. now he sucks
                     ass at level 1.. but stick with him becuase his last form is an enchanted
                     flaming sword on par with the best swords in the game.
        b - Ring of Temporal Flux
        c - Vampire Robe (6 upgrades via quests with custom textures by gender. This
                      hooded robe is used to disguise your vampirism and protects you from
                      sun damage. It has some drawbacks however for example you cant melee
                      with it on while out in the sun, and since you use it to cover your face it
                      blinds you a bit. It has other problems as well to help balance it a bit but
                      fear not because you can upgrade the robe to remedy these issues...
                      Some of you might think this robe unbalances the game but honestly... if
                      you were a vampire how hard could it be to cover yourself so no one would
                      recognize you? And how hard could it be to throw a blanket over yourself
                      to walk outside in the sun? Get real. I am. ;-p )
        d - Sun Block (10sec, 30sec, 60sec, & 300sec versions)
        e - Minion Sun Block (60sec)
6 - Adds Quests
        a - Vampire Robe Quests.
        b - Ring of Temporal Flux Quest
        c - The Mori Vampire Epic Quest
7 - Adds new NPC's & Creatures
        a - Morok Eliheim inside the Excise Office who starts the vampire robe quest

                iii - Sathir - An ex-Imperial general
                iv - Helot - User of High Pitch, a musical instrument to confuse her targets
                v - Dread - A Djinn Lord with necromancer ability
                vi - Solstice - Uses various forms of alchemy to help her in combat
                vii - Xalgoz - The Scamp King
                viii - Undertaker - Uses an overpowered sword called the Numbskull
8 - Adds a new Command Based Minion Summoning Engine that allows you to summon armies at a time. This is only available to Vampires! See marcVampireSummoning.doc for full details on this feature.
9 - Magical item glow has been removed in this mod. This was done for a two reasons. One, there was changes made to magic effects especially for Lilarcor. And two, I wanted to use Wakims Game Improvements but there isnt a no-glow version for regular Morrowind. I wanted no-glo and I wanted Wakims Game Improvement and since I cant use 2 mods at once for this, I simply changed my mod to match them both! So marcVampires is basically Wakims Game Improvements with no-glow for old Morrowind. I may seperate this later but for now I am leaving it there because item glow is lame as hell, and because the game improvements are really needed.

SPECIAL SECTION - MINIONS & SUMMONING

ONLY VAMPIRES CAN CREATE MINIONS

Minions are normal enemies that you kill before your vampire blood is able to run its course properly through their body. Because they are dead, their blood flow has stopped and since it was stopped prematurely they do not develop into mature vampires despite being infected with the disease. Minions are generally very weak with a few exceptions.

Minions are undead and take sun damage just like a normal vampire unless noted otherwise in marcVampireSummoning.doc. They are completely loyal to their master.

Each summoned creature has special abilities that hey can perform. You can force creatures to perform special abilities by commanding them for example, the Bloodhound has a Berserk Rush ability that makes him stronger, faster, & allows him to breath a shivering breath of ice, but... it hurts him by dealing 27 damage. If you have 5 Bloodhounds summoned and issue this command, they will all follow your orders!!! (Be preprared because this was designed for use in war)

General Information
- You cannot use your minions as cattle. They are undead so using absorb on them will have the opposite effect and hurt you instead.
- All your minions are actually Vampires. They take sun damage and have the same weaknesses as any vampire. Dont take them out in the sun.
- Special sun block can protect minions from sun damage but it is extremely expensive.
- Minions have no loot of any kind and have a soul value of 1.

- Minions can only be unsummoned when they have full health.
- Minions can only be healed with Blood Canisters or with the Dark Empathy spell.
- Healing spells will hurt minions!
- Some minions are or a special type called Mystic. These have to have full mana and health to be unsummoned but they are much stronger than standard minions.

MOD USAGE

DELETE OLDER VERSION & START NEW GAME
(the mod will not work otherwise due to process and script startup)

No original scripts where harmed in the shooting of this mod... this is partially the reason why the mod wont work unless you start a new game. I know how to fix this and I may fix it towards the end of development but for now you need to start a new game. So start a new game already.

In Character creation you should select the Mori Vampire Race and Nightwalker Birthmark to get the full benefit of this mod. The "Aegis Stalker" class is optional and can be customized if you wish however please note that care was taken when creating the class and it is designed to compliment the Race and help you get through the beginning of the game. It was also designed to maximize level potential so that you don't have to resort to cheats and game bugs to get to a high level.

Last release - marcVampires v0.75 Beta (Clan Vampirism Upgrade Release) - Did not include summonings or most of the npcs. It is really old. It has some texture problems with faces and generally it was just released to get feedback and help... dont use it unless you want to just see the 1st Epic Battle as a Mori Vampire.
